Rebecca

Executive Director

Rebecca has been working in the mental health field for over 25 years, counseling a highly diverse population of individuals, families, and groups in schools, community centers, and in a private practice setting. She also began her yoga journey over 25 years ago.

Rebecca first took an interest in Buddhist and other Eastern philosophies/spirituality as a teenager, began meditating a few years later and, in her twenties, took her first yoga asana class. Her understanding of yoga and its roots, and the impact of yoga on her life, continues to broaden and deepen far beyond the asana (stretching and postures) practice. In the last decade in particular, Rebecca has maintained a more dedicated practice, involving a number of multi-day silent meditation retreats – mostly in the Vipassana tradition.

She completed an 850 hour yoga therapy training with Dr. Juko Holiday, at Ease Mountain Yoga, in 2022.
Rebecca often weaves concepts and practices of yoga, mindfulness, and other somatic healing modalities into the work that she does – as a psychotherapist and, in more recent years, specifically teaching mindfulness meditation and trauma informed yoga.

She is especially interested in finding ways to cater the teachings and practices to those who may benefit from a more nuanced approach. Her focuses include working with marginalized populations, with teens and young adults, and with survivors of sexual trauma .

Aside from doing what she can to help out her fellow humans, Rebecca also feels a great reverence for other sentient and non sentient beings. She finds her greatest refuge and sources of wisdom in taking a break from the modern world of humanity, and connecting with the mountains, trees, sky, ocean, and wildlife.
